Sam: “I love those photos! When are they from?”
Me: “I don’t want to talk about it”
S: “Wait… aren’t these from last year??”
M: “Shhhhhh”
S: “Seriously? WHY haven’t you posted them yet?”
True life chronicles of a blogger’s procrastination.
But I’ve been wanting to share this one because it’s everything I love about sessions. I feel like I can’t say it enough – I love Wes Anderson and I love people who love Wes Anderson and I love people who love that I love Wes Anderson because it leads to experiences like these; in front of tiny lighthouses. There were canoes, maps, binoculars, a field of wheat, a forest surrounding us, and a lighthouse who will never meet it’s full potential as a lighthouse, but seems to be quiet happy overlooking it’s very own lily pond.
We talked until after sunset when Dustin broke out a lantern to light the way and I drove home buzzing from excitement from a day pond-side and a red and white lighthouse. Also, I can’t say enough about Dustin and Michele. They not only found a lighthouse in the woods, but Michele is a photographer, she makes amazing headbands, and she and Dustin also make insanely cool crafted items together (like animal head jewelry racks – one of which I own and LOVE). I’m so glad I get to see these guys on the regular now and I’m completely excited to share our lighthouse session in the woods.
