Winter keeps me indoors more than I want to admit. My imagination goes a little stir crazy and I end up baking horrible things or I end up painting ghosts on thrifted horse paintings or doing victorian paintings of my cat. I say to myself that it’s just really difficult to do anything productive outside in the winter, but even around the house, I find myself making excuses.
“I want to finish this room, but I really need to paint this dresser and I can’t do that inside – I’ll wait till spring.”
I keep thinking about dessert combinations I should be experimenting with (dairy free custard with gluten free phyllo and chocolate – why haven’t I had this yet?). So I spend a bit of time trying not to spend too much time on Pinterest as I eat too many snacks from Trader Joe’s, and secretly, with all this spare time, all I want is for the weather to be warm and to be out photographing amazing families and weddings again. And until then, I’ll be dreaming of days where the sun shines through leaves and my car isn’t stuck in a block of ice.
This session was about a walk out to the ocean on a long dock in Baltimore Maryland, a walk around the forest, and a promise of Batman toys. And psst – Joey and Brook also happen to be two super talented photographers from North Carolina.
