This Blacksburg VA farm wedding took place at Kara’s family property just outside Blacksburg.
Kara and Jeff met in Chicago and came back to Virginia to get married in the country. Kara’s horses from her youth moved in the distance, low mist sat over the fields, and a tent filled with florals and a disco ball became the center of the evening.
Kara’s floral print wedding gown changed the way the whole day looked. Billowing sleeves, a leg slit for dancing and running across the lawn, and a silhouette that stood apart from the landscape without feeling out of place.
The ceremony was short. When it ended, Kara and Jeff were met with confetti beneath a suspended disco ball before running back out into the rain. Smoke bombs cut through the mist and low clouds. By the time we returned, the tent was already full.
During cocktail hour, a caricature artist moved through the crowd while we stepped into the field for portraits. Then dinner, music, and the dance floor pulled people in.
This Blacksburg VA farm wedding felt like coming home again. The fields, the tent, and the rain all felt like that was exactly how it was meant to be.
