Your photos should reflect who you are.

The best parts of a wedding day usually aren’t the big ones. Not the grand halls, not the schedule, not the truck full of flowers. They’re the small, in-between moments, and the fact that you picked a day to celebrate spending your lives together.

An elopement is a wedding day zoomed all the way in. Without a big schedule to keep, I can document the actual reasons you’re getting married. How you look at each other, the in-between moments as you walk and bump into each other as you hold hands, the way you figure things out together when you realize you didn’t plan ahead. And since most of your people aren’t there, these photographs become how you show them your love: a way to let the family and friends who couldn’t come into the world the two of you share.

My background is in fine art and my life of performing improv taught me to love the adaptability and humor of the work; to meet every couple, the light, and the location as I find them, and catch a bit of wedding-day nostalgia that lasts a lifetime. I’m glad my work caught your eye.

I photograph billowing clouds over your ceremony; the mountains surrounding your small farm wedding; the foggy cityscape on a cold morning; or the candle-filled lamps and Italian string lights in the evening, long after sunset.

But also the warm smiles of the people who come to your wedding to support you and the tears at the ceremony and the details on tabletops and that moment where we step away to find some perfect light and photograph you, married and in love, for the first time.

It’s about both of you; two people, in love.

These tiny moments are hand-made and ornate, fleeting and perfect. I believe all of life is peppered with tiny moments of perfection. I just want to catch them.

I take on around 15 weddings each year so I can give each one the care it deserves. I’d love to hear from you.

FAQs

What is required to reserve our wedding date and book Nessa as our photographer?

To hold your date, I ask for a signed online contract and a non-refundable retainer of $450. Once both are received, the date is yours.
What are the payment options?

I accept Zelle, checks, and cash. Most couples prefer two payments, but I’m happy to set up a more flexible plan if that suits you better. The final balance is due one month before your wedding, and I’ll send a reminder closer to the date so you don’t have to remember!
Can we add a second photographer to our partial day coverage?

I photograph intimate weddings and elopements solo and I find that we mostly don’t need the additional coverage for smaller events! We can talk through any concerns if you’d like to have an additional photographer added on, however!
Can we add more coverage if things run late?

You are welcome to add on hours to any wedding collection. On the day of your wedding, if coverage extends beyond 30 minutes, overtime is billed at $500 per hour, but coverage cannot extend past 4 hours for intimate weddings.
How long before we see our photos?

Engagement sessions are ready in 4–6 weeks. Elopement galleries take a bit more time and will be ready in 6–8 weeks.
How many images do you deliver?

For portraits, usually 80–100. Two to 4 hours of elopements will range between 200–500, depending on the amount of time, the amount of details, and the kind of events covered
How will our photos be delivered?

You’ll receive an online gallery for viewing and sharing, plus high-resolution files delivered via download. These are yours to print and share.
Are the photos edited?

Yes. Every image is adjusted for color, contrast, and tone. Anything sent to print — whether for your album or framed photographs — is retouched more fully, removing distractions like blemishes or background clutter.
Can we add an album later?

You can absolutely add an album before the final balance is due. After that, albums are still available but will reflect current pricing.
When will we receive our album?

The first draft is usually ready one month after your full gallery is delivered. From there, we go through three rounds of design edits together to make sure it feels just right. Once approved, the album is printed and hand-bound, usually within four weeks.
Can we meet you before we book?

I’d love that. If you’re near Baltimore, we can meet in person to chat and go through a few albums. Otherwise, I’m happy to set up a video call whenever it’s convenient for you. You can book a time whenever you’re ready
