Call me spooky, but I think a fall photo session is the perfect time to capture special memories with your family. There’s something magical about the changing of the leaves, the crisp smell in the air and all those cozy sweaters. If you don’t believe me, check out one of my all-time favorite Fall engagement shoots here, which involved a cemetery and an abandoned house.

It’s quite possibly my favorite time of year.

For the last three Falls, I’ve been lucky enough to capture Nabila and Ruben and their growing family. It’s become a little bit of a tradition that I love.

Their littles are always so precious, and this go-round actually ended up being a maternity session of sorts since Nabila was expecting the next lovely addition to their brood.

In a double dose of happiness, we were also able to have the session at their brand-new home that they’d been patiently waiting to move into. The interior was so lovingly curated to suit their dear family, I just couldn’t resist having the session in their house.

And what a treat it was to be in this beautiful space with this crew.

The wallpaper, the upholstery, and the window treatments, all carefully chosen to be the perfect little nest for this happy bunch. I am a quiet lover of home design, working diligently on my own cozy cottage in my free time, so I love to walk into other people’s homes and experience what their happy place looks like.

So, we set off to explore their new abode, the cozy corners, the soft places, the bright areas awash in light. It did not disappoint. You could tell they loved every inch of this new home and all of the memories they were about to make in it.

The little girls were so honest and giggly, and their parents looked on lovingly; I adore those quiet moments of adoration.

It was a session filled with emotion as the family prepared for their newest arrival. I’m sure it’s bittersweet to spend the last few weeks as a family of four. It really was so sweet to capture these last little quiet moments before their baby arrives.

Once we made it outside, then it really started to feel like Autumn. We made sure there were plenty of fun props, like pumpkins and leaves, to capture the season in all its glory.

I’m so thrilled with the results, and I’m sure that when they look back on these photos in years to come, they will be reminded of this special season of anticipation and love. The photo session was filled with laughter and smiles as we captured the beautiful moments between the two little girls playing together and the entire family embracing each other.

We had the best time and I’m so excited to share these photos. I cherish capturing each family I work with, but there is an extra special place in my heart for this beautiful bunch.

I can’t wait to see what this new chapter brings them! It’s sure to be full of joy and new memories.
