Brunch weddings make my heart feel full (breakfast food is the best food, after all) and this wedding at La Vie Restaurant is no exception.

This was a New Years eve wedding like none other. Mostly because Max and Ashley wanted all of their friends and family to come without feeling obligation to give up their late night New Years Eve plans, so this wedding… was a brunch wedding with one of the most Amelie-esque cocktail hour color palettes I’ve ever seen. I could’ve lived in that room.

There was a tearful first look, photos on the district pier at the wharf, then a walk over to La Vie for their ceremony. Complete with chicken and waffle appetizers, a donut bar, and one of the foggiest mornings I’ve seen in DC. The rain held off until the end and it was just enough rain for the city to reflect back up at us in the way only cities can.

This is how Ashley and Max’s wedding day went and I’m so glad I got to be a part of it.
