Magic was definitely in the air at this stunning wedding at Stone Tower Winery in northern Virginia. From the gorgeous venue to the beautiful decor and the happy couple, this wedding was truly an experience.
Stone Tower Winery was the perfect backdrop for this special day for Sus and Gus, who would turn out to be some of my favorite humans that I’ve photographed over the years. The lush vines of the vineyard, the twinkling lights of the courtyard, and the reception space with nearly floor-to-ceiling windows that opened the space up to the stunning countryside, all created such an atmosphere.
The bride and groom were surrounded by family and friends from across the globe, all of whom were thrilled to be celebrating this special occasion with them.
If you’ve ever dreamt of winery wedding, Stone Tower Winery in northern Virginia should be at the top of your list. Nestled in the rolling hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, this venue will have your wandering the vineyards and bright happy spaces, with its stunning views of the beautiful rolling landscape.
The winery creates an unforgettable backdrop for your special day, with its sprawling lawns and gardens, rustic stone walls, and picturesque mountain views. Whether you’re looking for an intimate outdoor ceremony or a grand reception, Stone Tower Winery surely has the right match for your wedding celebration.
Sus and Gus, had such a unique global love story that brought them to this beautiful place. They met in Houston at a theater class in college, despite Sus growing up outside Washington D.C. Gus, meanwhile, spent his formative years in Venezuela. After five years of dating, Gus popped the question in that same theater class space, and the preparations for a cross-cultural wedding began.
The couple fell in love with the lushness of Stone Tower Winery and brought together family from all corners of the world for their inclusive wedding, including guests from South America, Europe, India and the US. Sus and Gus planned for a variety of traditions, from the crushing of the glass and an hora, to hand-fasting and a Latin Hora Loca, the couple wanted to honor the roots and traditions of their families coming together.
The pair exchanged vows under the Chuppah, surrounded by aging barrels of wine, and sealed it with a kiss as their friends and family cheered.
After the ceremony, the couple shared a romantic first dance in the winery’s grand ballroom, surrounded by twinkling lights and lush floral arrangements. It was a beautiful celebration of love.
This Stone Tower Winery wedding was truly something special. The bride and groom had a vision of making their wedding day unique and memorable, and they certainly achieved that. From Scottish family tartans to Venezuelan party hats, the joy was palpable.
As the sun set on the beautiful northern Virginia landscape, the love between Sus and Gus was undeniable. Stone Tower Winery provided the perfect backdrop for this special day. From the first look to the first dance, I loved capturing all of the love and emotion that filled the air. See how the celebrated:
