Sus and Gus married at Stone Tower Winery, in the hills west of Leesburg, Virginia.

Sus and Gus turned out to be some of my favorite humans I’ve photographed over the years. The vines, the lights strung across the courtyard, and a reception space with windows nearly to the floor, the countryside coming all the way in.
Sus and Gus met in a college theater class
They met in Houston, in a theater class in college: Sus grew up outside Washington D.C., Gus spent his formative years in Venezuela. Five years later, Gus proposed in that same theater class space.
Family came from South America, Europe, India and the US. Sus and Gus built the day around all of it: the crushing of the glass, an hora, hand-fasting, a Latin Hora Loca. They wanted both families’ roots in the room.

The pair exchanged vows under the Chuppah, surrounded by aging barrels of wine, and sealed it with a kiss as their friends and family cheered.

After the ceremony they had their first dance in the ballroom, under the lights.
