I loved getting to meet, photograph, and just hang out with blogger, Youtuber, and subway superhero, Akilah, in New York last autumn. It felt like my first authentic NYC experience. We stayed in a tiny room in a shared apartment with a few other roommates, we took multiple subways because the lines we needed were down, we went to Brooklyn Bowl in Williamsburg to listen to music and dance horribly, then had pizza at midnight at Vinnie’s. It was perfect. After making an amazing vlog together and having breakfast at Clinton Park Cafe, I took part of the morning to do a NYC lifestyle session with the lovely Akilah to memorialize her amazing face, hair, and generosity for showing me New York through her eyes. This is Akilah, (obviously).
