It was a beautiful afternoon in Prospect Park in Brooklyn. The weather was just right, with a perfect balance of sun and gentle breeze, and I had the pleasure of capturing a beautiful boathouse wedding for Caroline and Ryan.

The couple, who live in the sunny city of Los Angeles, had planned their wedding from afar, aiming for stress-free day surrounded by loved ones.

And, even with the distance, they put together an incredible day that perfectly suited their style. The resulting wedding was stunning, modern, and relaxed, just like the happy couple, with an emphasis on the natural beauty of the park and the pond.

I am excited to share the highlights of this beautiful day.

Keeping with the simple theme, I didn’t join the bride and groom until right before their ceremony, but was able to take in the beauty of Prospect Park. A beautiful oasis of greenery, nestled in the bustling metropolis, the park had meandering paths, a zoo, an Audubon center and a huge interconnected waterway, making it an ideal spot for outdoor weddings. It was even designed by the same designers of Central Park.

We were able to take some wedding portraits in one of the old tunnels and it was so fun to pay with the light.

For their ceremony, Caroline and Ryan chose a simple and elegant setup that complimented the natural beauty of the park, saying their vows on the terrace of the boathouse, right on the water’s edge. The wedding party was small but intimate, with just the closest family and friends in attendance, and the ceremony was short and sweet, with no frills or distractions.

After the ceremony, the couple and their guests enjoyed a fun reception in the boathouse, which was thoughtfully decorated with natural elements such as wooden tables and chairs, delicate bud vases, and candlelight.

The overall aesthetic of the wedding was one of simple and modern elegance, with a touch of old-world charm thanks to the stunning architecture of the boathouse itself. The guests enjoyed a delicious buffet-style meal, followed by speeches and plenty of dancing.

If you’re looking for a gorgeous outdoor wedding location in the heart of New York City, then you’ll want to check out the Boathouse at Prospect Park.

It was such a privilege to capture this unique wedding, and I can’t wait to make my way back to New York again.
