The beauty of Baltimore is really rooted in its rich and diverse people, and this colorful urban Baltimore Wedding at HÁBITAT completely celebrates that.
The poets, dog walkers, house painters, chefs, shopkeepers; they all create a tapestry of a community that’s blindingly vibrant. It follows, then, that couples from all over the world, like Emma and Michael, choose to tie the knot in this urban, and maybe a little gritty, oasis.
Emma and Michael wanted to throw their beautiful, bespoke wedding at a venue that embodied this industrial atmospheric vibe that Baltimore is known for, HÁBITAT at Seya gave them a unique and modern backdrop to come together with their loved ones.
Emma and Michael are a quietly hilarious and unassuming couple that share a love for giant kitties (Maine Coons, to be exact) and design. The couple was looking for a wedding experience they could mold into the party they’d always imagined when celebrating their union, and that reflected their personalities and values.
It probably helped that they are both professional designers. Michael even designed their wedding favors: custom enamel pins and tote bags that the couple screen-printed themselves (that I was privileged to go on my merry way with).
So, they set about building a wedding that captured their easy-going and thoughtful ways. HÁBITAT offered a sleek but simple canvas that featured colorful murals, modern décor, and sustainable elements, like reclaimed wood and eco-friendly lighting. It was the perfect blend of urban chic and natural charm, so it was easy to see why Emma and Michael fell in love with it a little. A dash of bold personal elements in their wedding décor, and the space came alive with their energy.
The ceremony took place on the main floor of HÁBITAT, which offers floor to ceiling views of the city, and Liz walked down the aisle in a delicate lace gown that perfectly complemented the colorful flower crown designed by Local Color Flowers. Michael was waiting for her at the altar, looking thoughtful in his charcoal suit and a red tie. They exchanged heartfelt vows surrounded by their loved ones, and the joy in the air was effusive.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds and their guests set about living up the warm and welcoming vibe of the evening. The festivities included a first dance that was scored by their wedding party (tough crowd, judging by the scores), but it was a moment to remember among many.
The night was filled with laughter, dancing, and celebration as Michael and Emma toasted to their love and shared their joy with their nearest and dearest. It was an honor to be a part of.
