The skies were dark, the wind was sharp, and AZ smiled and said she was glad the weather was overcast. “I’m not much of a sunshine girl.”
It’s easy to think fondly about a season after it’s gone. Easy to miss summer as soon as the skies fade to gray and the leaves change. To miss winter when the weather becomes too warm to bear. This wedding was one on the tip of bitter cold weather, at the very start of spring, before leaves had returned to all the trees.
AZ and Daric got ready in their home, their dog running around excited, buzzing from the energy. We moved from their home to a park in Baltimore; the one they walk around in with their dog and AZ told me gleefully about how parts of the park were being dug up and examined by paleontologists. We took some photos in my studio, pushing my desk aside for photos in front of a map. We talked about their love of travel as they snuggled up, surrounded by globes. Their wedding and reception was in the evening at Of Love and Regret, a romantic little place in Canton, Baltimore with the best atmosphere. They laughed, drank, and shared their vows in front of their closest friends and family.
So here’s to digging up the earth to touch it’s bones and exploring the world from every angle.
