I’m not trying to show you what a wedding looks like

I’m trying to show you what two people look like walking up the steps, sharing a look nobody else catches. What it feels like to sit with the people you love, candlelight on the table. What it feels like to be in love, tipsy, walking home after sunset with neon behind you.

Eighteen years, and what’s actually changed

I have a BFA in photography and digital imagery, and I’ve been doing this full-time for eighteen years, around 15 weddings a year, on purpose, so each one gets the time it deserves.

What’s changed most isn’t my gear or my style, it’s what couples actually want. The industry used to chase trends: Mason jars and burlap, then keeping up with the Joneses. What I hear from couples now is different. People remember the photos their parents took on disposable cameras. They want to see the fingerprints in the art, the process, not a fabrication of their lives dressed up as a “wedding aesthetic.”

My approach to light

I work with the light and the locations we’re given: candlelight stays candlelight, a moody room stays moody, rather than bringing in bright artificial lighting and rewriting how your day actually felt. If it was golden and warm, it should look golden and warm. If it was dim and candlelit, it shouldn’t look like I brought a studio with me.
