Planning a Wedding

Planning a wedding is kind of really fun because you get to learn the awesome new skill with your very favorite person that you never get to use again (like programming a universal remote. Does anyone remember those?). Thankfully, you don’t have to remember it all! To help out, I’ve put together some informative articles and eye candy to make planning for your engagement session and wedding day a little easier (or at least entertaining).

Before you plan for photos, you’ll want to choose a photographer and I have an entire interview based on what choosing a photographer looks like to get you started!

I want to preface all of these little bits of writing and advice with the idea that, while these articles are here to help get you started, a lot of what I’m here to help you with prior to your wedding day is is talk through the wedding day timeline with you and discuss lighting concerns.

We can go over the best time for glowing sunset portraits and make sure you’re spending time on your wedding day the way you want. So if you goal is to spend cocktail hour with your guests instead of taking photos, we can make that happen and find a time to take portraits at other times during the day!

This day is yours and should be about the two of you and showing what your love looks like. And I’m just there to photograph it all. <3

Portraits

Families, engagements, and editorial portraits

Anniversary sessions and family sessions should be stress free, fun, (maybe a little weird) and in a location that feels comfortable and unique to you. Choosing a location that says something about you can be tricky or feel overwhelming at times, so I’ve put together an article on choosing a location for your session and a few favorite sessions of mine, to help guide the way.

Once we book in for a session, I’m happy to help guide the way to more specific locations that you have in mind! Talking through big ideas and narrowing down locations together is one of my favorite past times and I’m happy to talk through and brainstorm location ideas, too.

Photographers

Personal posts, reviews, and articles to share

I’ve been a full time wedding photographer for almost 10 years, so admittedly, talking about photography is just part of who I am now. Thankfully, I love talking about photography as much as I enjoy doing it. Even my boyfriend is a wedding photographer!

You used to find me speaking at conferences around the world, but I’ve taken those talks and all the information from the workshops I’ve taught and I create videos and articles over on my Patreon page! I also compiled some helpful information for photographers, as well as some personal travel photos (because when two photographers travel the world together, they take a lot of photos).
